to the artists, designers and craftspeople who think I call their work kitsch... this is NOT the case, it refers to my own work

Bodys Isek Kingelez at Oiron

I'm working on new projects for an upcoming art tour I will talk about very soon.
The theme of the tour is fragility, subtheme on our location is urbanisation.  The difficult and fragile balance between cities and rural countryside.

I'm finding great inspiration in this...
my apologies for the very bad pictures shot in a tiny and dark servants' room in the grand Oiron Castle

the narrow corridor to the servants' quarters

Bodys Isek Kingelez - Paris Nouvelle - 1989

Bodys Isek Kingelez - Italie - 1989

The artist builds models of fantastic cities in cardboard.  Fun and playful, I'd love to be able to wander through his joyful universe.

Roger Raveel in concrete

A constant in Roger Raveel's work is the use of mirrors in his paintings and assemblages.  So is the image of the typical concrete walls in gardens throughout Belgium.  Third : silhouettes of people.

Jetske Verhoeven at Verbeke Foundation

Wooden orange crates, I've been collecting them for quite some time now for making small furniture.
Jetske Verhoeven (NL) has larger projects.

She used 730 orange crates to build this cabin together with architect Alexander Lefebvre.

quite inspiring, it's giving me new ideas for the upcoming art event in our barn and orchard
